Thirteen years after they partnered on Academy Award nominated ‘Casino’, Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro are teaming up once more for 'Painting Houses', yet another crime movie.
The film, an adaptation of the Charles Brandt novel, is about mob hitman Fank ‘the Irishman’ Sheeran who murdered over 25 people including, he claims, Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa.
Steve Zaillian, who had worked with Scorsese on 'Gangs of New York', is in charge of the script.
The film’s name is borrowed from the same slang expression which refers to the gushing of blood on walls and floors from contract killings.
