Europe to get Nintendo DSi in Spring 2009  Comments(0)

The Nintendo DSi, the third generation DS, will not be available in Europe before spring 2009.

Meanwhile, Japan will get the DSi this year on November 1. Nintendo said the Euro delay was justified as the second generation DS is still selling well in Europe, unlike in Japan where the technologically more advanced PSP is taking over.

The new version includes 17 percent bigger screens, an SD card slot, built in browser, MP3 playing capabilities and better audio production.

It also comes with its own flash memory and two 0.3 megapixel cameras - one pointed towards the user and one on the outside shell.

Similar in looks but thinner and lighter, the DSi will retail at ¥18,900 (€134) in Japan, slightly more than its ¥16,800 DS Lite father.
