'First Light' - Nomad Son  Comments(0)

Formed in early 2006, doom metal band Nomad Son has gone a long way! Nomad Son embraces the phenomenal talents of Jordan Cutajar (vox), Chris Grech (guitar), Julian Grech (keyboards), Edward Magri (drums) (all members of Malta’s prolific metal rock band Frenzy Mono) and bassist Albert Bell – who has also been bassist with Foresaken (now established at the forefront of the European doom scene) since 1991.

What started off as a studio jam session at Temple Studios whilst recording Frenzy Mono’s album ‘Unorthodox’, “has now developed into a fully - fledged doom band with a characteristic sound drawing influence from the trailblazing sounds of Black Sabbath and other 70s classic bands, 80s heavy metal and milestone doom acts such as Candlemass, Pentagram and Trouble!”.

After having been signed by Italy’s laudable independent label – Metal on Metal Records – Nomad Son launched their debut album ‘First Light’ at Poxx Bar on Saturday 19th of July, with supporting band Archiac Descent. I must say, the launch was phenomenal! Nomad Son managed to inject their passion and energy into the crowd maintaining an amazing vibrant atmosphere till the very last beat of the very last song! ‘

First Light’ features new tracks and also reworked versions of “Shallow Grave” and “Empyrean Fade”. It is an album mastered to perfection, filled with that same energy and passion only Nomad Son can deliver!
